Feng Shui directions with compass or not?
I am very confused. When finding the directions on any room, do I use a compass or do I automatically place the career side on the entrance of the room no matter what “real compass direction” is?
i know that the bagua method has been written by many authors. but there is just no such thing in fengshui. there is a flaw in this method – where do you put the toilet? because every place in the house you put it, it harms that aspect of your life.
but in fengshui, there is a place for the toilet.
the best method you can learn is flying stars. because it is simple, yet powerful. the only problem is few people have written about it – eva wong, joey yap – their books are available thru amazon.com. you need also to understand that reading their books would only tell you the basics of the method. it does not teach you the advanced uses.
in flying stars, how do you use the compass?
- first, measure the facng of the door. you do this by going inside the house, looking outside towards the main front door.
- cut out a square with a cross at the center – this must be 90 degrees perpendicular to the sides of the square.
- hold the square against the side of the door (remember you are inside the house looking out).
- then put the compass at the center of the square.
- turn the compass, so the needle will align north-south
- the side which is against the door, the line (cross) will show you the facing degree of the door.
- use this degree to draw the flying star chart of the house.
in fengshui (flying stars method included), you basically determine the center of the house – usually if your house is sqaure or rectangle – the intersection of 2 diagonal lines is the center. go to the center, hold the compass. align the needle to north-south, then you get the directions.
you just need to do some studying with flying stars, because there is a lot of analysis. but when you do an application right, you can feel the effect in just 2-3 weeks. there is really a difference.
