Going to a have an especially difficult time working with the wall facing the entryway…Plus I cant paint the door, but can I hang something on the outside in the color needed? What about plants or decor outside the doorway?

first, fengshui does not work as what you think. it is more about the energy distribution in the house – what kind of energy exists in a specific location in your house. you need to understand, that most chinese would consult a fengshui practitioner before moving or building a house. the consultation will inform them to know where to put the bedroom, kitchen, etc. i know that most books emphasize on simple fengshui like what you should not have and how to remedy the situation. but this is powerless fengshui. it is just important to know them, esp when you are learning fengshui from some fengshui masters. but using them is insignificant. i like to use fengshui methods, their basic and advance uses. i do think that because these systems are more powerful, they can have a significant effect on your life – so it is worth it to do those changes.
second, in fengshui, the directions (north, south, east and west) and where your front main door (of whole house, if it is a condominium, then the main door is at the ground floor, the one all tenants are using; fengshui is house and a condo unit is different) are also important. because the energy coming into the house are affected by those factors. and these determines what energy distribution or kind of life you will have in the house. so by using this method, you can actually manipulate the outcome of your life.
third, looking at your plan, i have only 3 concerns:
1. the plan looks like a condo unit, so the fengshui is different from that of the house
2. can you leave the house thru the patio? is the entry way of the patio like a backdoor? if it is then, this is not a good idea, because this means that the family will eventually split up into 2, if you have a spouse, a divorce may happen in the future
3. the bathroom opening to the bedroom is not a good idea, because this can be harmful to the occupants of the bedroom.
regarding remedies, i dont really like recommending them, because i still believe that they have more bad effects than good. besides if you are really good in fengshui, then you can think of more effective ways of dealing with them.
regarding the hallway, what about the hallway? i cannot see anything wrong with it, except for the above (mentioned, bathroom directly opens to the bedroom – no remedy, except to not use the bathroom; effects: usual illness to the person living in the bedroom).
additional: in fengshui, location or where you put what room is most important. because all spaces contains energy. and movement or by just living in the location can activate these energies – making them your life or those living in them. so, in your case, you cannot really make any more changes, because the rooms are already in place, so that means that you got to live the energy of the house as is. and whatever remedies you have in place or not, it does not really matter, because they wont have any effect. and the other thing is that they will just complicate your life even more. like bright paints can activate certain energies, both good and bad. mirrors can make your life worse, esp inside the bedroom. chimes can attract unwanted spirits.
the only changes you can do is consult a fengshui practitioner and move the rooms. why is this so? because for example, the room mentioned above – the one with the bathroom, if you dont use the bathroom, how sure are you, that the bedroom is not located in a location with bad energy? how do you know that it contains good energy. in fengshui, energy is not something that you can feel, nor sense. it just can be calculated using the fengshui methods. so let’s say the location where your bedroom is has many fire energy, so this means, that by sleeping in this room, the occupant will have illnesses related to blood and heart (both are of fire energy). and if you use the bathroom, the illness can be even more made worse by the excessive fire energy. then the moving water in the bathroom can actually make the matter even worse, by activating the fire energy and cause actual fire in the house. in fengshui, there is always explanation. that is why, when fengshui practitioners analyze situations, we like to eliminate those situations that can harm the occupants. but as i have said before, fengshui does not behave based on what you have read. it is more about measurements, methods, and analysis.
